We have a Designated Teacher for Looked after Children [Louise Gardner] who works closely with the SENCO to ensure all teachers in school understand the implications for those children who are looked after and have SEN.
Staff are rigorous in their approach to ensure additional needs are identified and supported appropriately both within school and through the involved of outside agencies e.g. counsellor/educational psychologist. A positive relationship between carers or guardians will be maintained through regular meetings (timetabled and informal, as necessary).
